Luffas grown right here in Marmora, Ontario. Luffa plants are a type of gourd, with vines reaching over 30 feet in length! The small immature luffas (a little bigger than a pickle) can be eaten while the mature luffas produce a sponge within to house the seeds. The skin is  removed from the sponge and thus can be used just like its plastic counter part. These sponges can be used for cleaning anything from dishes, counters, tables (anything that needs a good scrub) to our bodies! These sponges are very course when dry but soften when wet. They are grown without the use of chemicals and are 100% biodegradable and compostable!
We recommend the larger (9 inch +) luffas for shower use and the smaller luffas for general cleaning. Luffas can be cut to a desired size-a large luffa can make many sponges!
